Registry Fix Review

Even thoough Registry Fix is one of the unknown registry cleaners, Registry Fix turns up in searches and ads. We had a copy of "Registry Fix" so we tested it.

Registry fax's basic interface is not gaudy and it is encased in Window's program box itself. This is very useful, particularly to people who have slower systems. Registry Fix will not take up many system resources, because it is a small program.

The program starts by giving you three buttons on the left side of the screen, while the right side contains several "sections to scan" choices. This isn't the optimum program structure, but there are worse choices.

Your three main options are to manage your backups, scan your computer from problems, or alter the more advanced options. The advanced options include:

· Browser Helper Manager (helps disable browser plugins like toolbars)
· Startup Program Manager (allows you to disable startup programs)
· Add Remove Program Manager (lets you uninstall programs)
· Full Registry Backup Utility (makes backups of the registry and lets you restore them)

The browser helper manager was very cool as far as being useful, however, the other utilities are not very special and can currently be found in Windows in different ways, shapes or forms.

Registry Fix looks for and eliminates errors but does nothing more, and we are not impressed with the program. The scan came back with double the errors as RegCure and Registry Mechanic did, and it also doubled the time it took to scan.

The length of scans is propotional to the programming, and resulted in a seemingly implausible number of errors. There is a danger of removal of some important files by the over zealous registry repair utilities.

The program gets points for being simple to use and stable. There are other ways to go and I'd recommend instead you go with Registry Easy.
